Heart arrhythmia

Heart arrhythmias are disruptions in a regular heart rhythm, which can include slow, irregular or fast heart beats. They occur when the electrical impulses to the heart stray from their normal sequence and can range from being harmless to life-threatening.

Leaders in heart rhythm care

We're proud of our many contributions to heart arrythmia care in the Chattanooga area, including being the first to implant both an MRI-compatible cardiac defibrillator and a left atrial appendage closure device. Additionally, we were the first to perform the convergent procedure in our community, which is the leading surgical approach for AFib.

Electrophysiology study

Arrhythmias can be life-threatening if not detected early, leading to serious complications such as blood clots and stroke. We offer many heart screening and imaging tests to diagnose arrhythmia, including electrophysiology (EP) studies. During an EP study, we track and record the electrical activity in your heart with the help of diagnostic catheters that are threaded through your veins into your heart.
